1. Who we are

BonnetjeScanner ("we", "us") is responsible for processing personal data as described in this privacy policy. For questions, you can reach us via the .

2. What data we collect

We process the following data:

  • Account data: email, name and password (encrypted).
  • Receipts: photos, store name, date, amounts, VAT and category you enter or that our AI extracts.
  • Subscription data: billing info is processed by our payment provider Stripe.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device info for security and diagnostics.

3. Why we process this data

  • To deliver the service and manage your receipt archive.
  • To secure your account and prevent abuse.
  • To process subscriptions and payments.
  • To send you important service emails (no marketing without consent).

4. Retention period

We keep your receipts and account data as long as you have an active account. After account deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where legal retention obligations apply (e.g. tax data).

5. Sharing with third parties

We only share data with processors necessary to deliver the service: hosting provider, payment provider (Stripe), email provider (Resend) and AI provider for reading receipts. Data processing agreements are in place with all parties.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data. Send a request via the and we respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage and strict access control. Your receipts are only visible to you and any team members you invite.

8. Cookies

We only use functional cookies needed for login and proper service operation. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

9. Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, contact us or file a complaint with the data protection authority.

Terms & Conditions

1. Applicability

These terms apply to all use of BonnetjeScanner. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. The service

BonnetjeScanner is an online service for scanning, storing and analyzing receipts. We strive to keep it available but cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

3. Account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for all activity under your account. Report suspected abuse to us immediately.

4. Subscriptions and payments

  • The Free plan is free to use within the stated limits.
  • Paid plans (Pro and Business) start immediately after payment for one month with full access to the included features.
  • Paid plans renew monthly automatically until canceled.
  • Cancel anytime via account settings; access remains until the end of the current period.

5. Use of the service

You may not use the service for unlawful purposes, to overload our systems, or to access other users' data. Abuse may lead to suspension or deletion of your account.

6. Content ownership

Your receipts and data remain your property. We only obtain the right to process them to deliver the service to you.

7. Liability

BonnetjeScanner is a tool. We are not liable for incorrectly extracted amounts, VAT rates or other data — always verify your receipts before filing taxes. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the subscription in the past 12 months.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Important changes are announced at least 30 days in advance by email or in the service.

9. Termination

You can delete your account anytime via account settings. We may terminate accounts for serious abuse or prolonged inactivity.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
